financial aid question

I am in the very beginning stages of prerequisites for nursing school. I am supposed to be getting financial aid, and they are giving me a set amount which I think is supposed to cover the entire spring semester. But since I also work and am a mother of two, I can only take one or two classes per semester, so it would probably take me a long time to use up the money. What I'm wondering is, do I have to use the whole amount in the spring semester or can I spread it out for however long it takes until I run out? Or am I forced to take full-time classes in order to use the financial aid money?

cali,

financial aid is based on if you are part-time or full-time. Since you stated that you are part-time, that is what your financial aid is based on. The money that you don't use from paying for your tuition, books, and fees you get back with a refund check mailed to your house. Then as each semester starts, financial aid will pay for it and you will get another refund check from the money that is left over.

Thanks for that info. I think I am going to be receiving the whole check, though, as my school notified me that my financial aid check is ready for me to pick up (I already paid for my classes and books for this semester, since financial aid had not arrived yet).

Usually, you have to be going at least 6 hours to get financial aid.....
