I'm almost done with school and keep falling behind on my bills, this will offically be the first month I cannot pay my credit card payments... I feel such anxiety from it.
I vented to my mom who went through a divorce during nursing school and shes telling me everything will be ok, I cant pay rent, my bills or anything yet. my husband can only do so much.... I kno cc payments are slightly small stressors but I dont know how to deal with that kind of anxiety knowing I will physically be ok if i'm late. Does anyone else deal with this? I figured venting would be a good way of getting it off my chest. I have one month of school left, my mom says "your young, it happens, your credit will jump back itll be ok" im only 22.. but gosh I think my anxiety level is higher about these stupid payments then it is about school itself. I have a job but work second shift and can only handle about 3 shifts a week..... any positive advice or thoughts??

Contact your credit card companies directly & make them aware of the situation. Don't ask for special treatment or anything, just get it on the record that it is your intention to pay. Then send them something - ANYTHING - a $5 payment is better than no payment at all & should keep your account from being listed with 'failure to pay' but rather 'insufficient payment'. Please don't buy into the idea that you're young & have plenty of time to fix your credit. Bad credit will follow you for the rest of your life.

Always the question is...and it's not an assumption or an attack, but are there ways you can cut back right now? I have a lot of classmates that are singing the financial blues but they have cable TV when they could cut back to basic for awhile, a smartphone when they could use a standard or a pay as you go for awhile, buy new clothes, etc. I know it sucks to cut back but you really have to. Do you eat out at all? Go to the movies our out with friends? If so, any unnecessary expenses...and everything except for basic food/rent/school expenses IS, let's face it...really have to go. Good luck to you :-)

hah, you worried about credit cards? I ain't pay the mortgage and other bills in 2 months and starting to get calls. I'm down to my last few dollars but I'll make it some how, my family is depending on me. Back in January I quit my job making $18/hour to do this and I successfully made it through my 1st semester at my BSN program thanks to loans. Nope its not easy but worrying about money really hurt me when I first started, but now I learned to just calm down and take it one day at a time. I'm not one of those people who hides from bills collectors. If they call I simply say I ain't got the money to pay and a lot of times they willing to work with you, have you tried that? At the end of it all I know my studies will pay off the bills will be gone and I will have a better life, so will you, so stop worrying about it focus on your studies, it will pay off in the long run.

Call the credit card company. Most Companies will forgive one 30 day late payment every 16 months..I would also consider moving in with family members until you finish school. It might be hard since you have a husband but it might help the money situation.

We had to sell one of the cars to save money, and I'm thinking about cutting off the cable..especially since you can watch everything online these days.
we haven't had cable in 3 years, all u need is high speed internet, everything is online or on netflix and a digital tv receiver if u want local channels and news in HD,
Cable TV is a ripoff...I know I used to work for them...lol some people don't even know if u got cable internet like comcast or time warner (not Uverse or IPTV) you can still get free local channels in HD if your TV has a QAM tuner....its a secret they don't tell people. just google clear QAM channels.
