finally talked to a recruiter!!

so i talked to a recruiter. & b/c of my medical discharge she is going to send my info to the waiver authority to see if they approve me even trying to apply for a waiver. so, sometime next wk i should know if i can even try to get back in as a nurse. gosh, i'm so nervous! i really hope that next wk i am not forced to give up on my navy dreams as a navy nurse. pray for me!

:nurse:The best of luck to you!!! I will be praying for you. I sure hope that it happends and that you can follow your heart and dreams of being a NAVY NURSE!!! Please keep us posted!!! Keep the faith!!!

Good luck! My recruiter did that too. I can't remember what it was called, something like a "courtesy review" I think? I was told I couldn't join by one recruiter, but I didn't give up and switched to another who sent my info up and they said I could get a waiver. So hopefully you will to! Keep us updated!

Good for you!!!

So, the first recruiter didn't even send your info to the review board?

Go you for being so determined!!! Hmmm, maybe we'll one day be stationed together! I'll keep you all updated on the progress.

Well, he sent just a paper review to MEPS and I was disqualified due to my medical prob which I knew would happen because anyone can see the list of disqualifiers online! And he just stopped the process at that point. I asked for a waiver and he said no way. So I said, ok...i'll find another recruiter. :)

I'll be thinking of you. I know the wait is hard. I have had to do it so many times!

i'm glad you kept the faith! so many ppl would've just given up. i'm wondering if my waiver does get rejected if I can write a senator or something? THat probably sounds crazy but I'll try anything that's possible!

My husband & just can't stop talking about our navy days as enlisted. We generally talk about those memories often but now we're getting excited. if i don't get in he'll finish his bachelors & go officer in about 2 yrs. i would be proud to be a navy wife but i prefer being navy nurse! :)

thanks for your feedback.

oh ya, the recruiter sent me the link to ODS. omg......it is going to be such a skate compared to enlisted boot camp!! so many of the things they allow shocked me! i mean, we only share a rm w/ one other person! what's the fun in that? i loved boot camp & the challenge it presented. i know ods will still present a challenge but still, i mean we can get liberty! either way, it will be a blast.

Good news! the curtousy review did not say no to me! They requested more information so that means I am on the next step to actually applying for the medical waiver!!!! I was so excited when I found out. Of course, I know this doesn't mean I'm in but it does mean I still have a good fighting chance! Now goes another round of paperwork! Wish me luck & thanks for all your well wishes & prayers!:icon_hug:
