Finally starting prereqs, Winter 2014

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Well, it has been a long journey for me! I've already been at my local community college for a few years, taking classes part time to pursue a Biology degree. Last year I got the idea that I wanted to change majors and pursue nursing. I've spent the past year researching, talking to people, and mulling it over, and now I am finally starting the classes I need to get into a program. I have to start my prereqs basically completely over since hardly any of the classes I have already taken will count, but I don't care! I am SO HAPPY! It feels....right. I am taking:

Biology 112

Chemistry 112 (both are required to take A&P at my school)

Nutrition

Medical terminology

Any other prenursing students want to share what they are taking?

I also work anywhere from 23 to 28 hours per week. I hope those of you that are taking your prerequisites are enjoying yourselves and doing well! Happy studying :)

Good job! Congrats on figuring out your calling! It's an incredible feeling, isn't it?? I'm finally finishing up my pre-reqs this quarter!! Sooooo excited!! I'm taking statistics and it's actually not as terrible as everyone has told me! Next quarter I'm enrolled in a CNA certification class so I can hopefully work for a few months before nursing school in the fall (that is- if I get accepted! Still waiting to hear back!! *fingers crossed*) good luck and stay determined!!

Thank you all for your replies! Wow, congratulations to all of you who are gearing up to go to nursing school! Way to go! I can't wait until I am there too but I am sure that time will just fly by.
