Finally got a position!

Nurses New Nurse

Published

After 3 months of searching, and searching, and searching..I finally was given the opportunity to work per-diem on the med/surg & step down unit.:yeah: I am soooo excited b/c I really didn't think that I was EVER going to get a job due to the economy. Now, that I've accepted a position, I am having mixed emotions that come with being a new R.N.:nuke::barf02: and I haven't even started yet. Does the feeling ever go away? So any new nurses got any advice for a newbie??? I am open to any suggestions from all.

I feel good about this hosp b/c they believe in being a "TEAM" which they stress very highly but they also say b/c they are a very small hosp (it is only 25 beds) they hold their nurses to higher standards. They truly believe in alot of training for their nurses..in which they will pay to send you or will hold on their campus grounds. I've already been told that I must be ACLS, PALS and Telemetry certified all within 6 months to a year. :uhoh21:

Thank you for listening,

Joanna
