FINALLY DONE!!!!

Nurses Recovery

Published

I received my notification today that was released/successfully completed my monitoring program, even had the OFFICIAL letter sent to me from my case worker via email. I'm almost in shock....but SO damn happy, relieved, etc! Today was slated to be my 'actual' date of completion too, which makes it even more bittersweet.

I know it will take me a bit to get used to not having to check in daily, read EVERY food label or suffer through a cold without "certain OTCs", but damn....so far it just feels good to know that I AM DONE. For those of you still going through monitoring feeling like you can't do this, it's taking too long, etc...just stay positive and keep trucking along day by day-- you WILL get there. My program was 5 years & I NEVER thought this day would come.

Thank you all for your support on this site...I know I wouldn't have gotten through this without It! ?

Thank you for your inspiring words! I have just 42 days left of a 5 year program. I’m amazed at how SLOWLY the last few weeks have passed! I remember getting excited when I “just had” 3 years left, then “just had” 2 years, then “just had” ONE year left”!! ...when I realized 1-2 months ago that that I “just had” 80-90 days left...time became CRAWLING! ? Now I look at the upcoming 42 days & think, “Wow, ANYTHING can happen in 42 days“! Inadvertent etg, missing a check-in on test day, dilute causing a contract extension,” etc. Not, that these have even happened before (well-except for 1 dilute a year ago) & I’m praying they never do. . I’ve been more paranoid on this last stretch than I ever have.

willow14- CONGRATS!!?

? No early alarms... cuz you don’t have to check in! Enjoy that extra sleep!!!

??? BUT- Wide-eyed & still can’t sleep tonight??? Take a Benadryl- allergy symptoms or not! (Clarification- I’m NOT advocating to take unnecessary meds. Just having fun! And STAY AWAY from propofol! ? That didn’t work out so well for Michael Jackson’s Insomnia)!

??- No bug bites. Cover yourself in OFF or ANY bug spray with an ethyl alcohol ingredient!!!

?? OOPS! Was that meat marinated in soy sauce??? No worries! ENJOY!!!

?And like I tell everyone...enjoy the extra money in your BANK account every month! You’re so used to paying for UDS & collection fees every month for 5 years- it’s like you’ve gotten a raise! Spend wisely... a vacation ?️ on a tropical island is a great suggestion! YOU DESERVE IT, willow14!

Yay!!!

Congrats! Enjoy the freedom....??

I’ve had an everything bagel for breakfast every day for the last 2 weeks and I did finally have that glass of wine. It was glorious....not because of the alcohol (I’m quite ambivalent about drinking in general. Give me an iced tea any day.) but because I could.....

Thank you everyone for your kind words ?
