filipino nurse seeking registration to WESTERN australia

World Registration

Published

i'm a filipino nurse searching thread about wa nurses here and i found out that the one and only post available was also mine.. hahaha.. so i thought of starting another one... most of threads are for the whole australia.. this is specifically for wa

this thread is intended for those who are seeking registration to nmbwa. wanurses are most welcome in this thread.. we want to hear from you and those who are currently undertaking bp...

hope that we can guide each and everyone..:nurse:

i see. thank you so very much. i was planning on giving them a ring tomorrow. you saved me a few bucks.. :D

goodluck to us all!

godbless to us all... :redbeathe:

i agree to terdjay curtin is a premiere uni.. but awwww.. the tuition is very expensive. i also submitted an application to murdoch university in perth. they have 1 year conversion program like curtin but their tuition is not so expensive i guess you can save 5000AUD compare to curtin.. murdoch is also affiliated in various leading hospital in WA but boy curtin is affiliated in RPH. but i hope nurses are still in demand after i finish my conversion next year.. Godbess us..

To enlighten you up, wa has open recruitment for rn till 2013 December. So plenty of job when you graduate. And the license now will be all over aus and no longer limited to wa. Murdoch is cheaper because it's not affiliated with the best of the best hospital in wa. You should pay more to get more. Curtin is expensive because it's curtin. Curtin is top 17 uni in aus and recognized worldwide. The $5k addtl tuition is worth everything after all.

To everyone: In case you don't know employers here are particular with your uni and with your performance too. If you want to work in the best hospital in aus you should graduate from the best uni also. And that goes for all profession. Hospitals here are very very choosy even though there's an extreme shortage of nurses. That's why I don't like the vchn and nbv because I might not land a job in the best hospital.

But for desperate people with no experience who are ok with nursing homes then you don't need to invest 1.5 million. Just go for your bridging in nbv. It's cheaper and faster. In this world you only get what you deserve.

I graduted from a very good nursing school yet I decided to settle with this very long conversion program converting my already aus degree to an aus degree. It's for my own good anyway. And it would give me a lifetime of job security. The long and difficult process is better all in all because it provides a sense of security. The sure way is not the short way. If you want the best work hard for it and sacrifice for it although it would cost a lot.

Oops curtin is top 13 not 17. Hehe

:yeah: very well-researched. thank you.

Specializes in Theater nurse.

wow thats good news so nurses are still in demand in WA until 2013? good news for all nurses who want to work in Perth. My friend took conversion in Curtin but after her conversion she cant still find a job that was she said and also converting your current visa to work permit according to her is a long process. thats why lucky are those who are already settled in Oz under PR or citizen status. well i think every human have unique future. no matter what school you graduated it still depends on your knowledge and skills as a nurse. after all its not about your school its about how effective you are as a nurse. Its not about the hospital you work its about the good service you provide to your patient as a nurse. so whether you have plenty of money or you only have few or you graduated in cheap university/college or working in a cheap hospital, everyone of us has an equal oppurtunity to become successful in our own unique way. EMPTY POCKETS NEVER HELD ANYONE BACK. ONLY EMPTY HEADS AND EMPTY HEARTS CAN DO THAT..

After graduating your friend should have applied for graduate visa then converted it to 457 and later on to pr. Or she should have transfered to other states under mutual recognition. This is really weird because once you get your aus license offers from different employers will come. Also while taking the conversion she/he should have emailed different hospitals or nursing homes asking for sponsorship. I think she/he's under informed. Tsk tsk. Emailing a remote hospital would drive them nuts for you.

Yup. No pain no gain. It all comes down to sacrifice in the end. So reach for the stars guys...

In addition if you study in curtin it will no longer matter what uni you graduated in the phils. They will see you as curtin anywhere in aus. I'm not asking the people to enroll in curtin. I'm just presenting some facts that would be best for nurses like me with no experience and middle aged nurses who are 2nd courses. It's your decision that will matter in the end anyway not mine. But if the best opportunity is present, why settle for anything less? Good luck to nurses who are doing everything to achieve their dreams in working here...!

lime12, terd is saying the facts. in addition, i think your friend should have registered with a nursing agency who would look for jobs for him/her. my aunt here is a psych nurse and she mentioned that even if she's off duty her hospital still rings her if she would wanna work because there really is shortage.

perth is booming, meaning the population is getting bigger as more people are coming here for the jobs that are created. nursing included. :)

wow... im loving the thread... i got more motivation from wat u guys say!!!!

You do not need to pay $23k for Pre regtistration (Bridging) course! It cost about $10k and is only about 3 months. Let me know if looking for a great place to enroll.
