I am looking for a good fetal monitoring competency test to evaluate my staff for an eduational needs assessment. I'm not into re-inventing one if I acn find one out there. Any Ideas?

I recommend the fetal heart monitoring workshops and materials put out by AWHONN. You don't need to re-invent the wheel. There are TONS of workshops and study materials at your fingertips. AWHONN has introductory, intermediate and advanced fetal heart monitoring classes. They also have books you can purchase to test and learn competencies. Ask your manager or visit http://www.awhonn.org for information on these. Where I work, AWHONN advanced fetal heart monitoring is required to maintain employment. We have certified instructors among us so it's provided free of charge to all employees. I think that should be true in every OB/Labor and Delivery department! Anyhow, Good luck!!!
Here are some books:

happy reading.
you can use the above to develop a test....or just try awhonn for one. The workshops DO test people at the end for competency in the objectives learned. It is a great way to put in writing, what your staff have accomplished in education/fetal heart monitoring competency.
