Feeling over whelmed

First let me say so happy I found this place! Okay, well lets see.... I just started my first year of nursing school (a BSN program) and the first week has been finished. I've had severe anxiety for the last three years and it's starting to creep back. I'm so worried that I'm going to fail, that I'm going to hate it, that I made a horrible mistake, and I'll be horrible at nursing. I chose nursing because I like science, medicine, patient care, and the fact that there are so many options within the field. Now that I've started I have no idea if I made the right choice. I've cried, I'm stressed, and I'm worried. I know I can't be the only one who has ever felt this way, but I'm pretty much doing it on my own, and so I needed somewhere to kind of let it all out. Thank you so much, and would love any advice or stories, anything you feel like sharing. Thanks again.

Hi and welcome,

Nursing school and nursing in general can be very stressful at times but it does sound like you are lumping all the "what-ifs" into one big anxiety session. Based on your history I'd consider checking in with your Doctor before it gets out of control and effects your grades. Wishing you the best!

Yes, I do "lump" still working on that. I see a doctor on a reg. basis once a week, so I am still active in working on it. Thank you for the advice.

Don't give up. In the nursing field there is something for everyone. Don't second guess yourself, you will find your forte.
