Okay so far i feel like im not getting in anywhere. I currently attending cal state la. I applied for the nursing program and did not get. it is very competitive. My gpa right now is a 3.1 and I only took my teas test once and i got a score of 60. So far i've applied to 2 schools cal state la and smc (at smc i was on the waitinglist). I am currently applying for pcc, lacc, and im waiting to start applying at lavc...they dont start till april. I just want to retake the teas because i feel like its holding me down. however i feel like im losing hope because every school is competitive and i dont want to wait too long. I have thought about going to west coast university but it is just waay too much money. I don't know what to do actually. but i am still pursing nursing as my career and i'll still apply to schools that i plan to.
any suggestions or advice?
thanks:)

Hey! I'm not sure if I can really give you good advice because I'm in the same boat your in. Don't lose hope! Don't give up! Just take the TEAS again and get it out of the way!! Apply to more schools... north to south cali if you can. Good luck!

In the meantime, is there a class you can retake to up your GPA a bit? The minimum GPA to get into the evenings/weekend RN program is 3.56, so I already know if I don't do well in one of my prereqs I will have to take it over again.

Are you sure your TEAS score is high enough for your schools ? Here in San Diego SDSU, you must have at least a score of 75 to be considered.
No actually my TEAS test score is not high enough. I must retake it again sumwhere...i was told i should take it again at a school that offers the test. Also I did retake a class of one of the pre-reqs, i did not know that u musht have a 3.5 minimum...is that the same for all schools?. Also for now im applying to the schools where i can commute or is most convenient for me.
75? wow really? I got an 89 and i'm retaking it on the 22nd for sac state
75 is minimum, just to have your application looked at. Our TEAS only counts a small percentage for acceptance, GPA is the biggest deal breaker, but without a TEAS of 75 a GPA of 4.0 will not matter.
oh okay now i know what atleast what score they will be looking at.
today i turned in my application for pasadena college.
Wish me luck!

Good luck!
And don't lose hope, did you retake the test?
If not, study like your life depends on it, do nothing but stay in and study until you are confident you can ace it, and if your GPA still isn't high enough to get in where you want, try looking at some of the small communities outside of any major cities, they tend to be more low key and therefor more lenient on GPA minimums.
Just keep applying, and eventually you should get in one, if not, raise your grades. I know it would suck, but it would be worth it in the end.
