What is your end goal? If it's not LVN, don't do it. There are even fewer jobs for LVNs than there are for RNs, whether ADN or BSN. If you're in a major metro area, you may want to go straight for your BSN, because some hospitals won't hire ADNs anymore.
How's your GPA? If you keep it high, that will make a big difference in getting into school.
The schools that have shorter wait lists or lower requirements, be aware that there are often REASONS for this, like cost, reputation, transferability, and overall quality. Apply everywhere you can possibly consider attending, and see what happens. Don't count on any ONE school.

I'm feeling extremely overwhelmed with school. I need to get my prerequisites and transfer to a 4 year as my goal is my BSN, and I feel so discouraged after reading posts about how SoCal schools are nearly impossible to get into, jobs hard to find, etc. I'm currently starting gen ed classes at Cypress College and don't know if I should try for an LVN program to do a bridge and transfer, just do prereqs and get my ADN and transfer, or just do all of my gen ed and go to a 4 year. Can anyone recommend a good place to start or schools that have smaller wait lists? I don't mind driving an hour or so, but as we have a toddler I would love to get the ball rolling. Thank you in advance, any advice is greatly appreciated!
