feeling discouraged :( . rejected

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So I found out today that I was rejected from the COTC-Central ohio technical college program in Newark, Ohio for this Fall . It was for the LPN program. I had a 3.9 gpa there, have a bachelors degree and was done with my prerequisites but Im guessing it was that teas test that prevented me from getting in. I didnt do so well on it.

I have no idea what to do now. I guess I could retake the teas test and apply for the winter quarter but I feel so discouraged and what happens if I dont get accepted again? Now I have a loan I took out for them when I took some classes before the program to get in. A lot of the lpn schools in in the Columbus ohio area are over 12,000 and I dont feel like paying that much for a 1 year program. I already have a student loan from the university. Yes I have a degree but I was laid off due to budget cuts and havent found anything in my career since and theres not that many jobs in Recreation Therapy.

Now I kinda feel that maybe nursing isnt for me but I should have known this wasnt going to be easy . It is a competitive selection at COTC. I would still like to get into nursing in the future because I love helping others and I did pass my stna test but...I just Idk . I guess Im lost

Is there any study material for the TEAS??? My school uses the HESI A2 now and there are a lot of study materials available. Study study study and do well on it the next time you take it...you are a shoe in with your GPA!

Dont feel rejected it is hard to get into nursing programs, i was put on the waiting list for a RN program at my cc it was depressing but i got back up and pressing on to reapply with bigger and better GPa and Teas grade..GET UP SMILE YOU CAN DO THIS.....YOU ARE NOT ALONE, THERE IS ALOT OF US OUT HERE!!!

For you to have done so well and be that motivated during pre-reqs, you have to feel some sort of passion for this profession! Don't give up. Find study material for the TEAS and study your heart out until you're confident you will pass it this time. Your GPA is great, now just focus on the TEAS and you're good to go! If this is truly where your heart is, don't give up. You'll always wonder what if I passed the TEAS the second time around? Good luck!

thanks guys! Its just discouraging because I bought the book from the ATI teas site for Teas 5 and studied for almost 2 months lol and still didnt do well. I know I can do better though. I mean I studied my ass off during these prequisites and I do have a bachelors degree so I am a hard worker. I guess maybe I should get some more study materials to study and retake the teas test and apply again. Im going to look at other schools as well.

i know how you feel. i am starting to think maybe nursing isn't my calling. you will spend your whole life chasing after this career with the long wait lists, tricky entrance exams, etc my school wants you to pay $75 to take the teas, that is just too much money. this whole college thing is just sucking me dry and i have taken out loans too. i will be considering something else. i might as well have gone to medical school. it makes no sense for it to be this many obstacles just to get into a 1-2 year program
