Hello, I have a few questions regarding RN jobs in the federal prison settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.
What exactly are the required job duties, such as daily schedule. Who is on staff with the RN. What type of shifts does the nurses work or are they flexible such as 3 12's? I understand the benefits are great especially long term wise just trying to get an idea before making the decision to apply. I know the interview process is quite extensive. What type of questions do they ask in the interview?

I noticed that there are several posts regarding the Federal Bureau of Prisons and USPHS. I previously worked in the Health Services Dept at one of the BOP facilities so I'm quite familiar with the job duties of various health services positions. I still work for the agency, but now I help people with their questions about medical positions like RN, NP, etc. There are a handful of us that now do this. It is part of our job. The agency realized that there was a need to have HR staff that specialize in answering questions for medical professionals that are curious about our agency. Feel free to ask questions. If I don't know the answer I'll find someone that does.
I'm not trying to recruit anyone. I'd just like to help answer questions about the BOP if you have any.
