FCCJ-Peds/OB

Has anyone taken Peds/OB yet at FCCJ? Would like a little info as to what to expect going in.

THanks

I have taken both at FCCJ and enjoyed them. I know that your clinical location and instructor will make the most difference. Let me know if you have a specific question.

I've heard that they lose some in peds/ob. How are the tests-are they as hard as Adult Health? I have 12 hour peds clinicals-what do you do all day? Thanks.

The tests are not that hard at all. They had changed the tests in my third semester in OB and some did fail. They have since been fixed to not be that crazy difficult. Who do you have for OB and Peds and where are your clinicals? As far as what do you do all day in 12 hour clinicals...well that again depends on your clinical instructor. I had Dr. H and we were busy. She loves this area and will expect a lot out of you, but you will learn. We had two patients from the beginning. It is the best semester of nursing school and the most relaxed. Fourth term is intense but you will make it and be fine. Hope I helped you some...let me know if you have anymore questions!!! Best of luck to you!!!

Actually I do have (Dr.) H-she has a doctorate in nursing? I'm at Wolfson's. I haven't had any problems with my professors so far, I'm pretty easy going. I also have JH for lecture. Thanks for the info, sometimes you never know what kind of instructor you'll get and how they "behave" during class and clinical.

Those are the instructors that I had for Peds. H is a little on the not so exciting side of lecture. Just always be prepared for your clinicals with Dr. H. She wants you to succeed but can be a little harsh if you are not prepared. Dr. H is very hands on and expects your best. It is a great experience and you will do great!!!
