      sounds like a good idea?

Wondering if any hospitals fax report in postpartum.  My hospital is trialing.

Do you mean entirely in lieu of a verbal hand-off?

yes, please klone what are your thoughts?

I think it's a horrible idea, and goes against TJC's guidelines on safe transfer/continuity of care. I think hand-off should always be live-person-to-live-person (ideally, IN PERSON, so both nurses can assess bleeding, lines, and IV settings together). As a nurse manager, there is NO WAY I would allow report to be strictly via fax. I have seen specific examples of nurses catching errors and unsafe situations during bedside report.

Thank you Klone I appreciate your knowledge and time I agree 100%
