Hi all,
I am actually not a nurse, but my aunt is an RN. She has had to pick up and build a new life in a new profession after a messy divorce left her with nothing at 58 years old. I am so proud of her for recently getting her license. I know she will do great things.
Her birthday and the holidays are coming up. I've been searching for gifts that will make her life easier, but since I know very little about your profession I'm kind of stumped.
If there was one gift that you would love, or one piece of favorite gear that you already own, what is it? My budget is pretty limited, but for the sake of argument, let's say money is no object.
I just want to get her something that she can use that will make her day-to-day easier. She's on a COVID floor now and lives in a cold climate if that makes a difference.
Thank you for any advice. And thank you for all that you do!!

Does she have a smart phone? Perhaps an app for drug references? Or one for diseases, or trauma?
I don't know which ones are good. I would like a drug one for myself.
A really good stethoscope is always welcome. Littman?
I didn't even think of an app. Thanks for the suggestion!

Get her a massage! Or a chiropractor visit... you can really mess up your back as a nurse it’s good to start habits of self care like this, especially since I’m sure she is stressed to the max. Plus who doesn’t enjoy a massage? Scrubs, name tag for stethoscope, watch, medical scissors, nice pens (black), nice goal planner, nice water bottle.
A pulse oximeter finger probe is helpful.
