Family members who think they know everything

I HAVE to get this off of my chest! My mom is dating a guy who thinks he knows everything about medical problems. Any time I'm talking to mom or grandma about something nursing related he always has to pop in and give his 2 cents. We went to the hospital tonight to visit his sister who had a hysterectomy. He told me what the blood pressure machine was and the normals for vitals.....I was like uh huh, I am in nursing school. Then him and some more guy family members were talking about catheters and oh how much they hurt to be taken out. His poor sister is laying in bed with some oxygen, morphine and is just not feeling well......and the men talk about themselves when in the hospital. I told her not to worry about the catheter, that men were babies and our travel for catheters is much shorter than theirs. Then he started whining about how his nurse didn't give him a patch for nausea...........it just really bothers me sometimes and how obsessive he is about medical facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I freaking HATE that. I'm not in nursing school yet, but I love learning about different medical conditions, etc. I have a few family members that do that too. Im sure that is the last thing his sister wanted to hear was this hurts, thats not right, etc. I know where you're comin from
