Hi all,
I am applying to direct-entry MSN programs around the country (I'm in WA state) and was wondering how something like a family emergency is generally handled in nursing school. My grandparents have basically raised me, and if their health goes south while I'm at school on the east coast, would professors/instructors be understanding of me missing some days to go back home?

It's up to each individual program. You have to get so many clinical hours in to sit for the NCLEX. At my school we can miss lab and lecture but not clinicals. They moved stuff around for me to attend my sister's wedding last weekend. But that was only because it was lab and not clinicals yet. Some are stricter, some are more lenient.
Thank you, that is helpful to know!
