Fall 2018 WCCCD Hopeful

Published

So I'm waiting to either get accepted into the WCCCD nursing program or be denied.

Deadline was May 15, so I wonder how long it will take to find out if you are one of the lucky 60 or not.

I decided to start this post to connect with other students who applied, and see how other process is going. An just connect with ppl who if accepted I could form a study group with.

Hey Luvfav

I actually think taking the online classes during thee summer is a great idea. Me personally I plan to take American Sign language classes. I hope we receive our acceptance letters in the next couple of weeks. Good luck... I'll see you in January

Fingers crossed!!

So I'm finishing up the first 7.5 weeks and the schedules very. Make sure you come early to your orientation and have all your required stuff in. I cannot stress this enough. It allows you to pick your schedule first and you get to pick from the available selections. I go 5 days. But some of my associates go 3 days. Join the nursing association. They help and it gives you a group to connect with. The classes are not hard, however you must must must read. And it's a lot to read and know in a short time.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info!

I'd love to know what is in the nursing bundle for Nursing Foundations? I have been considering buying the Carpenito book now just to get started. Are you guys reading each chapter?

I'm asking because I work full time to support my family. If I can start reading now, it might make balancing work, family and school a little more manageable. (Hopefully!!)

We used potter and Perry 9th edition for foundations, but we don't cover all the chapters.

And we use Wilson for nursing assessment, and again for this class we don't cover every chapter.

I will try an post the chapters we covered, however they do change books time to time and make some changes to the chapters covered. So I would rent the books and rent them rather then buy them just Incase your incoming class has different books.

The program overall is good. Some ppl don't like that a lot of stuff is left on you. For example you may not get lectures in your 118 and be left to read all the chapters on you own. However you can ask questions about the stuff you read if you didn't understand stuff. But you teach might not provide slides and stuff.

Hello I am waiting to hear something back for Jan 2019 start. Do you know how many points you received?

No but honestly if you passed the HESI you should be fine.

I know a lot of ppl from my micro class who had great grades but couldn't manage to pass the hesi.
