failing RN school

If you are failing in RN school then it's likely that you won't be successful in LPN school unless you address why you are failing and make some changes.

First, take a deep breath...ahhhhh :-) There is no failing, just maybe you are not ready at this moment in time. I do not know your current situation, or anything else that you may have distracting you. I had many problems in the beginning of nursing school myself comprehending the material and figuring out how to answer questions. A little history of myself, I work as a CNA in the Surgical ICU of a Level I Trauma center, I graduated from CNA school as valedictorian, and have been ranked an employee of the month many times in the last 5 years. I felt as a valuable employee, my experience, and my resources of other nurses, nursing school should of been a breeze. Much to my dismay, it was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

Now I can only speak from my own experience, but I needed time to find out who I really was and how I functioned as a person. I know it may sound a little silly, but it was not until my second go around at nursing psychology that I finally got the entire concept of what it actually took to be a nurse and how I myself worked as a human.

As I learned, nursing psych class was all about self awareness, and helping me fine tuned the skills I needed to study, relax, focus, rest, and even control the frustrations I had when I thought these RN questions were the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of. Seriously...who in the world is going to ask me in my scrubs in the middle of a supermarket about non-pharmacological forms of pain control for their breasts relating to post part-tum and cabbage leaves. Sorry, that still to this day is my favorite NCLEX practice question I ever had.

Point I am trying to make, is that finish this entire venture into nursing when you are ready. Take a step back and learn who you are first. Maybe the class is too fast paced for you, perhaps you need extra time on exams in quiet rooms, maybe you are a visual or SIM learner like myself, or maybe its just hard for you to focus into the areas of study you do not have excitement for.
