Hello everyone,
I just recently failed the NCLEX for the second time. I first took the test in October and failed with 265 questions. During the summer I took the Kaplan Review course which I found to be very helpful, but unfortuntely not as helpful enough. The second time around I took some advice from the site and used the SAUNDERS book and CD. I read the whole book and more than half of the CD. The rationales were efficient but seems to me that the answer choices weren't as challenging. Out of the 4 answer choices one would OBVIOUSLY wrong so you can just guess which is the right answer out of the three. I took the NCLEX for the second time in the last week of December. I felt pretty confident going into the test and felt not so confident when I left with another 265 questions(sigh). I had a feeling that I did alot better than the first time but apprently not. I am feeling soooo very discouraged. I thought I was really prepared. So I am interested in investing on online reviews, either the MOSBY CAT or the NCSBN course via http://www.learningext.com. I've read alot about MOSBY CAT on this site but not much about the NCSBN course. Has anyone taken both courses and can compare? Thanks for reading my vent...Any help is appreciated.

I have also failed twice. I was also thinking about taking the NCBSN course. After Kaplan I have decided that you need to go to the review that is from the ones who make the exam. I am anxiously awaiting to see if anyone has taken the NCBSN course. Good luck :)

I don't know if this will help... I didn't take any review class, I studied all by myself, and honestly, I didn't study nursing for 8 years... All I used for preparing the exam is a book my friend recommended me to buy: Delmar's NCLEX-RN Review by Alice M. Stein, Judith C. Miller. Check it out at any online bookstore... I found that a lot of people think that book is helpful.

You guys are missing it. A good review company can help. I know of another student on this forum who is going to take the Hurst Review. The website is www.hurstreview.com. There is an online review that is just like taking live but cheaper. Check it out and ask anyone who has taken it. It is the best review out there.
Good luck

I used http://www.learningext.com (3 weeks @ $49) and couldn't be happier. I passed NCLEX PN with 85 questions.

I used the NCSBN, took the 3 week review, and I was very pleased with the practice questions. On my test I got many questions I did in the practice tests with NCSBN. I consider it very helpful specially in the review of nursing interventions for the various illnesses/disorders because I was away the nursing field for quite a few years. I recommend you also Kaplan NCLEX-RN 2004/2005 book and CD, it provides all the hints and clues on how to select the appropriate answer, this one helped me a lot too.
One last thing I did was practice a minimum of 200 questions each and every during 30 days prior the exam date, including weekends and holidays, non-stop until the day before. I passed the test with 193 questions.
Hope this helps
Good Luck
