  1. Thank Eric, I browsed some refresher courses and they can cost more than $1,000. If I could, I rather not but if I can't find a job I guess I would have to . Thanks nicci, good to know someone is similiar to my situation...I have some questions for you, I'll probably contact you privately. Thanks again everyone
  2. Thanks for the kind works everyone, I really needed it. I know, my intent is not to lie, I don't think I can do it, but it has crossed my mind.
  3. Hey everyone, I think this would be more realated to this forum compared to the general forum I just posted on. Well I graduated June 2004 and just recently passed the Nclex this past July 2006 (Yes two years after I graduated). I happen to fail the NCLEX the first time around and while preparing for my second time around, I came down with a lot of personal/family problems and put the NCLEX off until last month. I haven't worked within the past two years and I was wondering what are my chances in getting a job? The most recent activity on my resume is dated 2004 (clinicals and nurse interning). Friends have questioned my ability on the clinical aspect of nursing (if I still have my skills) starting IV's, insterting foley's, shots etc. I think I do, but it has been awhile. Does anyone have any advice that they can give me? Is there courses to "freshen up" your skills? or recommend just applying to hospitals and get reoriented there? I know if I get a interview they would ask would have I been doing the past two years..I question I dread. I thinking on what to say and even lying??? Well as you can tell I'm pretty discouraged but I really would love to start this awesome profession. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  5. Hey all, i was just wondering if anyone encountered any good review books with priority questions such as "Who would you see first" type of questions? I think I need a lot more practice with those. I am currently taking the Mosby CAT review and it's "eh". It's great that it tells you your precentage of passing but the questions repeat ALOT so that's why your precentage of passing is in the 90%'s because you already know half of the answers! I am looking into either the Hurst review or the NCSBN online? Thanks!
  6. Hello everyone, I just recently failed the NCLEX for the second time. I first took the test in October and failed with 265 questions. During the summer I took the Kaplan Review course which I found to be very helpful, but unfortuntely not as helpful enough. The second time around I took some advice from the site and used the SAUNDERS book and CD. I read the whole book and more than half of the CD. The rationales were efficient but seems to me that the answer choices weren't as challenging. Out of the 4 answer choices one would OBVIOUSLY wrong so you can just guess which is the right answer out of the three. I took the NCLEX for the second time in the last week of December. I felt pretty confident going into the test and felt not so confident when I left with another 265 questions(sigh). I had a feeling that I did alot better than the first time but apprently not. I am feeling soooo very discouraged. I thought I was really prepared. So I am interested in investing on online reviews, either the MOSBY CAT or the NCSBN course via http://www.learningext.com. I've read alot about MOSBY CAT on this site but not much about the NCSBN course. Has anyone taken both courses and can compare? Thanks for reading my vent...Any help is appreciated.
