Failed NCLEX RN, Studying to take NCLEXPN, not doing too well on practice test

Published

So I went to nursing school studying to be an RN, and I failed the NCLEX. My job is being really understanding and keeping me on as a grad nurse under an LPN grad permit since I am no longer eligible for an RN permit since I failed the boards. So they asked me to take the LPN boards as soon as possible so I could start working without being under another nurse's license. My NCLEXRN is scheduled for October 1st and my NCLEXPN for September 1st and I am scared because I am only doing around 50-60% on the LPN practice tests. I am afraid I am going to fail and not be an LPN either and not be able to work under an LPN permit and be out of a job. I know all of this is confusing. I really hope someone has some words of wisdom to get me through because I am really panicked that I won't be able to pass either NCLEX.:o

You need to force yourself to replace worrying with positive effort in studying. The only way to pass any test is to study and learn the material. Continue doing questions and studying the rationales until it is time to take the tests. Just keep taking the tests over again until you pass. If you pass the NCLEX-PN first, then continue until you pass the NCLEX-RN. You can do this. It is only a matter of time and effort. Good luck.

Thank you, that is really good advice. I appreciate it.
