Im writing on this forum, because I know how important this site is to many students taking the nclex. I used this site so many times for reassurance and support when I did not pass the nclex the first time. Here's my story.... The first time I took my nclex, I used Kaplan. I completed all the question trainers, and did all the questions on the qbank. I studied 8 hours a day for 3 weeks straight. One of the biggest things I did wrong the first time, was not really understanding how to use the decision tree and I rarely looked over my notes. I figured the more questions I did, the better I would get. Little did I know that just because I did the questions and was taking kaplan didn't give me the automatic green light to test. When I went in, I was nervous and wasnt sure what to expect. I left the testing center and hour after getting there and got 75 questions. I was sure I passed. I got home and did the pvt trick and got the credit card page. I was devastated. I cried the whole day and stayed in my room. My fiancé didn't know what to do to help me during that time. I was crushed. But he reminded me that it was just a test. It didn't mean that I I wasn't going to be a great nurse cause it was just a test. It was such a set back for me. I was determined to pass this test.this time around I really made sure that I understood the main diseases and topics I wasn't sure of before. I made sure that I took my time with every questions and dedicated everything I had to studying. I took the test yesterday got 75 questions and got home to find the good pop up on pearsonvue. I truly believe that if you re having a hard time with trying to pass the nclex, you need to make sure that you read the question slowly and correctly. Once I understood how to actually read the question and understood what it as really asking, it just clicked. I recommend taking your time she you are taking test, go in confident and make sure you are in control of the test, not the test controlling you. I also believe that prayer was a big reason why I passed. I prayed to God to give me strength and confidence during the test to help me pass this time. And through the great goodness of God, I passed! Remember this test is passable! Remember you have control of the test so take your time and ask God to be with you when you are feeling hopefless. He will provide! God is good! Good luck to everyone out there taking it soon. You will do fine and you will succeed. Go in confident and believe in yourself!
