Failed Nclex Dont know where to begin Studying again.

Hi Everyone,

I have taken the NCLEX twice I have been unsuccessful both times. Im trying to get back to studying but I just dont know where to begin. Does anyone has any suggestions on how should I prepare better for the NCLEX..I took kaplan however I felt it was just helpful with strategies.

I've been away from nursing for AGES. I took Kaplan, Hurst last year. Took NCLEX in June 2011 and failed. Now I'm back to studying again. I know my main problem is CONTENT/CONCEPTS. I can critically think....but without fully comprehending content and concepts (why's and how's), critical thinking is nothing.

I started with NCLEX 10,000 this year and signed up for Hurst Live Review again. I currently have access to their online review till June 3rd and this time around, what I'm reading and viewing online makes A LOT of sense. I tried Saunders but it doesn't sink in as much as Hurst Live and using Marlene's book Hurst Reviews/Pathopysiology Review. Marlene Hurst's explanation on the video and book made me understand more. I'm not saying I won't ever read Saunders again. But for now, Hurst is what works for me and once I've grasp more of the concepts, then I'll definitely revisit Saunders for further reinforcement.

I guess what I'm saying is....try different resources by going to the bookstore and reading through different books and see what best fits your method of learning. It may seem like a long road ahead, but don't give up! Good luck to you!
