Failed FNP AANP again (4th time) seriously I give up!

Seriously!!! I'm going to vent quick. I don't know what it is that I'm not getting on these exams. I can't even get more than 60% of the questions right. I've been studying my butt off. I've done practice exams that all score high 580's and above. This test is ruining my life! I'm now home writing down all the questions that I can remember and know which ones that I've missed. But honestly I have no idea what more I can do.

I felt confident this time. Now every time I take this damn test all I feel is that I'm waiting for that "NOT PASSED" to slap me in my face.

I've gotten advice from others who have passed. I've done that. I've reviewed. I "felt" confident. I just don't know what more I can do?!

Did you pass yet im nrw to this site i just took the AAnp a 2nd time can i ask you a few questions if you don't mind.

Yes. I finally passed AANP 3/25/17. I am married with 2 teen boys. The weekend before I booked a home on a lake through Airbnb and had no interruptions from my family. I believe you can private message me on here by clicking on my user name. Ill be more than happy to answer questions that I hope I can answer.

I passed that as well. Yeahhhhhh. Quests not too bad. I finished it 30 mins before the exam, I then I have a lots of time to check my the flags question.

I totally understand i have taken the AAnp twice failed today and i just don't know where to go from here. Now if i cant get 60 percent on that test i don't know what I'm going to do about the ANCC i have so many emotions.

I was to mad to cry i cant even try again until next yr😂

I have loans to pay back i just put myself in a horrible position.

If u don't mind me asking how did u study in order to pass?

I passed the boards a week ago and would like to thank all the people who contributed to this board who were successful. My take away from the boards for me was I had all the information in my brain I needed. The areas where I felt I was deficient I studied (i.e. women's health, some peds, asthma medications and escalation, T2DM medications and escalation (know the precise action of each class of med), etc.). Although I studied the areas where I was "shown deficient" my wife and I determined I was not deficient in those areas. I had the knowledge I needed. What I needed was more questions. The more questions I took the more I understood I needed to change how I addressed the questions. The two most important parts of a question are the "actual" question and the answers. When I would feel confused about what a question was asking I would look at the answers and then go to the 'direct' question and eliminate the rest of the question. This would allow me to determine what the question was really asking and then go to the body of the question and take out the diagnostics or information I needed to answer the question.

The studying I believe was most beneficial to me was from the Leik book on Family Nurse Practitioner Certification. As I searched the blog posts involving people who had not passed their Cert and then passed the most common thread in all of them was the Leik book. The first part of the book has a very involved talk about how to approach questions. I think this was the lynch pin for me and would encourage anyone who is having issues take a look at this book.

I hope this information helps. Good luck to all.

I regularly scored in the 60's on the predictor exams and a 55 and a 58 on the Barkley exams. I think it is important to slow down and make sure the question they are asking is being answered not the question you think is being answered. I know on the predictor exams this was the main reason for my lower scores. Once I fixed this issue testing was better.

I wasn't aware of the ANCC thing, do you think it would help for the AANP exam as well?

Happy new year all, please is there a study group now for AANP
