Failed CNA Test Becasue Of Tester!!

Published

I took my CNA test earlier this month in Ohio. I studied often. When I left I just knew I passed. When I got my results I found out I failed the skills portion. The skills I had were hand washing, positioning a resident on their side, putting on a ted hose, feeding a dependent resident, and weighing a resident. I passed all of the skills except feeding a dependent resident. I failed because they stated what I charted was not within 25%of the solid and within 60ccs of the liquid and that's a bold step. The person ate 2-3 bites of applesauce on the little plastic white spoon. I didn't even fill the whole spoon about half of it with the applesauce. Two sips small of ginger ale and 1 small sip of water. I put that he ate 5% of his meal and drank approximately 30ccs of his liquid. So I called D&S (they grade the test) and asked are they able to tell me what the observer had written compared to mine. They said she had 25% for his meal and 90ccs for his liquid. I asked is 5% not within 25%? Also is 30ccs not within 90ccs? It's exactly 60ccs (I didn't say that I was thinking it). So she told me I was correct and she does not know why it was marked incorrect. She said she has to speak with her supervisor on Monday to make sure I am correct. Then I should pass. Just a message to anyone reading this who took the test and did not pass. If you feel you did everything right you can dispute. Don't be afraid to do so. I was but I did it. I don't know why but I was shaking the entire phone call. I am also upset that they didn't do their job. If the test are sent to them to be graded how come they didn't check it especially since it is a BOLD step?

No idea what to tell you besides next time just do it their way. its not about what you think, its what they think. Just play their game and keep it moving.

They changed the results. I disputed and because of that I passed!!! I'm so exited!
