hi... i just wanted to ask what will happen to those candidates who fail the CRNE (even after 2 attempts)? will they be sent home once their work permit expires? are there any other options to consider to be able to continue working in canada and ultimately become one of it's citizen? you see, i'm given an offer to work in alberta as an auxillary nurse (with 2 years contract) and from there, apply at CARNA then take the CRNE once approved... i don't want to sound pessimistic but i have to be ready for anything that might happen.
also, can my wife (who's also a nurse here in PI) apply for assessment at CARNA even without a job offer? thanks.

You are not going to like what I am going to tell you, but going as a nursing asst, is exactly what you will be. There is no such job title of registration for the Auxilliary Nurse.
You are going to get paid for that range as well, which will be considerably less than what an RN makes, and you are going to have issues trying to meet your expenses with that pay. Taxes still come out of it and you need to pay for housing, food, transportation to work, etc.
Suggest that you have a good read on the Philippine Forum about what has happened to those that went thru this program. There is much information that you need to be aware of.
And to add to it, if the exam is not passed, then you will not be permitted to remain in Canada as you are being sponsored by an employer and are expected to meet that requirement. You are being given two years to prepare and pass that exam, if that does not happen, your work visa is not renewed and you will have to leave the province.
These are things that you need to be aware of before considering signing a contract like that, and the fact that it is a temporary work permit and can be cancelled at anytime.
