im an international student here in US. i would like to ask if how long does it usually take to get in the nursing program. (associate's degree) and also are there hospitals that accept newly graduated aa degree f1 students?(in southern california)

California has the nation's highest unemployment rate and it is competitive to be admitted to any ADN program. Most of the acceptances for the fall have been sent.

Best of Luck.

It took me 3 semesters of prereqs and 1.5 years on the waiting list totalling in 2.5-3 years to get into the program and then 2 years of the program itself. Note, while on the waiting list I still had to remain a full time student taking 12 credit hours each semester, the wait period was very depressing. I think most colleges offering Associates Degree in Nursing have a waiting list for students. There are not enough nursing instructors and teachers in the US this is where the wait period comes from. If I went for a Bachelor degree it would take me the same amount of time but it would cost a lot of money which I couldn't afford.

I agree with LE...the waiting is really no fun. I've seen some people went for RT instead because they were fed up of waiting. But I would suggest maybe taking other elective nursing courses or Spanish class. Try to apply to as many schools as possible once you are done with your pre-reqs. Good luck!
