Hi! I was an SICU nurse for 7 years, took a few years off, and just found out I was accepted into an OR preceptorship in the fall. I am very excited, always wanted to do OR nursing, but time was never right. My question is...I wear glasses (bifocals), and can't see without them! When I worked in ICU, I never had to wear goggles over them, they were shield enough, I guess. Anyways, this seems like a dumb question, but can I just wear my glasses in the OR? Will I need some sort of shield? I'd like to know now, since if I need new glasses, I am going to have to save a little over summer, they've gotten so expensive. Anyways, thanks and I am so glad to be joining your ranks! Kim
