Hi,
I need some advice on how to explain leaving my last job. I worked in home health with a brand new branch office. I was one of two nurses hired for this new office. We had an interm supervisor (she was actually the hospice supervisor) and the whole year that I worked there we did not have a home health supervisor. There was alot of discord in the office, we were overworked (sometimes seeing the equivalant of 8-10 patients a day) and never compensated for it (we were salary but still worked 10 -12 hr days sometime), the interm supervisor caught the other home health nurse falsify her nursing notes and nothing was every done about it, I caught her in numerous lies and reported it. The interm supervisor clearly treated her hospice staff better than the home health staff. It was brought to the administrators attention numerous times but nothing was ever done. Myself and the other nurse were written up for things that we had allready expressed are concerns about. The final straw came when a patient told the interm supervisor some lies that could have easily been verified to be lies by his wife who was at the patient visit the whole time and the agency wanted to terminate me. I asked them to contact the wife but they refused. I refused to sign any termination notice and refused to be forced to resign. My question is how do I explain this in any future interviews. I want to be honest but at the same time don't want to seem as though I am talking nasty about them.

I would say something along the lines of, "I prefer not to discuss the internal procedures (or problems) of my former employer". The response to this statement will tell you how far you should go, but you are wise not to say too much.
