There is another NLN exam, our class is taking it in April. We also took an exit HESI, I think our class average was 700-something. Its not required for us to pass to graduate though. I think its terrible that some schools do that to their students.
I'm not sure what the NLN exam is called exactly, but its supposed to be computer adaptive, just like NCLEX.

We've known all along that we were required to take the Exit HESI in order to graduate. My school has not had a wonderful pass rate on the exit HESI in the past (60% + failure rate), and we were all (rightfully, I think) dreading taking it come this April.
We were told yesterday that we're still going to take the HESI, but that we are also going to take an NLN exam. We must take both, and must pass one or the other (or both, I suppose) in order to graduate. They claim to be trying to find the best predictor of future success on the NCLEX.
I don't know much about the NLN, but from reading this site, I've seen it referred to as an "entrance" exam, and a fairly easy one, at that. Is there another version of the NLN that is geared toward graduating nursing students - and that would in some way be a guage of our likely success on NCLEX?
The HESI has been a thorn in the sides of seniors at my school for a while...could they really be giving us an "out" by adding an "easy" NLN exam? Are they just tired of having to remediate all the kids who have failed the HESI?
