Exhausted from failing NCLEX PN

Published

Hi everyone, I've given NCLEX-PN exam 2 times and I plan on giving it a third time. I'm so afraid because I feel like whatever I study won't be enough and when I go in to give my exam again, it's gonna be like the first 2 times where I wasn't sure of the questions. The first time I got all 145 questions so it seemed like if I could had gotten a couple more questions right, I could've passed. The second time I did not do so well cause the questions were harder than the first time I took it and it stopped me at 104. The first time I studied UWorld as recommended to me which I felt wasn't as helpful for the exam as I thought, the second time I did some UWorld again, mark Klimek and questions on nursinglab.com etc. I will say that Mark Klimek notes did help and I learned more but the exam had a lot of new topic questions I did not know smh. So now I'm reviewing the Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX-PN book which I really like cause I feel maybe I need a content review and I like the questions on there(yes there very easy and nothing like the NCLEX). I also got Kaplan QBANK for $50 but I feel I don't like it. I don't like their style of asking the questions and the rationales don't explain well, for example I got one question on blood sugar, it said for the rational that "exercise increases blood sugar" while on Mark Klimek notes it states that exercise is like insulin which lowers blood sugar(which is correct). I'm so confused at this point and don't know what to study or do. I passed HESI in school with a 919 which was good but I don't know why I can't pass the NCLEX ?

Sorry for the long post guys, any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Maybe getting a tutor if you are struggling this much. It might be a bit of an investment but they can tailor to your learning style and explain better than the books you are using. I know this is really stressful but don’t doubt yourself. You made it this far so don’t give up. Good luck ?

Yes, a word was left out... "exercise increases blood sugar utilization"

I just wrote the NCLEX yesterday I don’t feel great about it but I also don’t feel bad it’s a weird feeling that test leaves. Have you thought about getting a study partner? I think the way I studied didn’t work the best for me but I feel like I still know quite a bit of info. I feel like talking it through with people would work better!

Congrats! Let me know how you did ?

What were some of the tools you used? I’ve been studying my exam is soon I just feel so anxious ? but you’re right I felt the same after the exam at one point I’m thinking I did fine at another I’m thinking I ruined it it’s a really scary feeling for sure. My studying habit has changed, I also feel studying with partner/s also helps as I have a friend I’ve been studying with.
