I called Excelsior State Board Department to see if they could suggest any hospitals so I could complete my preceptorship hours. And, I was told that I can't help you! Your a graduate, and so your on your on to find your preceptorship hospital. We can only tell you of the two hospitals that have done preceptorships in the past! I stated to them, but they are over crowed. Then, I asked them to suggest others and they would not! So, let me get this straight, they failed to inform me in the beginning that I would even need a preceptorship, they got all my college tuition, exams and cpne monies, and now they are telling me they can't help me! Why weren't they fined for their part of this whole mess of needing a preceptorship? This is a school of Excellence?! Perspective students be aware of the hidden requirements at Excelsior!

4pancakes, this is not hidden information. Excelsior gives information regarding perceptorship, we have to read everything. The school says that we are responsible for finding our perceptors. Look up info on school website. hey have a list of facilities.

This is why I stopped this program and started at a local CC. I think excelsior has a good program for LPNs who can't go to a CC etc.... but I was to scare of all the red tape after completing everything. I start the bridge program in January, I so glad I decided to change to a CC. It saves me a bunch of headache.
Excelsior students work their butts off and I don't think it's fair that they have to fight for getting their regs when they are done.

4pancakes goto the Ga Sate Board of Nursing Website depending on if you were an Lpn and for the duration it may no longer be a requirement. There has been additional law changes in the past 3-6 months. I would also recommend contacting the Board Nursing if they may possibly have a list of hospitals they have. But the Excelsior grads from the Atlanta area have been driving to the rural hospitals, Cherokee, Piedmont - Mountain or smaller hospitals , North Fulton.

Excelsior College has no agents who visit homes. You must be talking about a salesperson from one of the publishing companies, usually The College Network. The College Network is discussed extensively on this site. There is also a warning on the Excelsior College website about third party publishing companies.
Wow, ok I will investigate
I agree completely . Stay away from The College Network"
