Yup, but E.C. seems to be unaware of the requirement, which has been in place since 2008 as I was told by the board of nursing. I spoke with one of E.C. admissions nursing staff members today and he was unaware of the policy, or able to provide any direction. The requirement states you must have clinicals simular to those whom have went to a traditional program.
Wiggles did you ever think about getting licensed out of state that has an agreement and then endorse into Maryland? There are several states that require a certain amount of clinical hours before sitting for NCLEX. Colorado & Washington will allow you to do the preceptorship while you're waiting for graduation. They don't offer any units for the clinicals though. Oklahoma also allows you do the preceptorship while you're waiting for graduation and you get 2 units of credit. Hope this helps.
Hi,
I actually called to speak with someone at the board of nursing after reading this link http://www.mbon.org/main.php?v=norm&p=0&c=licensure/index.html. She then confirmed this did apply to EC grads as well. I may be unclear about the 1000 hrs. I have to dig for the paper from the information she provided. :)

Hi, does anyone have suggestions for obtaining a preceptor for the program in Maryland, District of Columbia, Virgina or Delaware? I just learned this is needed to be licensed in Maryland.
Thanks
