Excelsior on-line school

Hello all:

Here it is March already and I graduate this June 08. I can't believe how far I have come and its almost over. As I am still nervous and get sick every time I take a quiz or test, I am almost sad to be graduating. On to the world I will go after I pass the state boards.

So... I have a question for anyone who has gone or is currently going to Excelsior. This is an on-line Nursing program. I have provided the link.

I do appreciate any feed back.

I'd like to wish all of you a great day and a great holiday weekend.

Thanks to all of you in the health care field. You are all making the world a better place

Excelsior is not an online program; rather, it is a distance program. It is important to make this distinction because their classes do not meet online. You study on your own pace using materials that were mailed to you, and you take exams at local testing centers.

Visit our Distance Education forum for more information. The vast majority of the people over there are current Excelsior students.

I am graduating from a LPN program....

Specializes in pediatrics.

Excelsior will accept you once you have your license. I applied and got in after completing my LPN in July 07 however I need to get cracking and start reading my books and studying.

It is harder than I expected because working full time as an LPN to pay off my bills & student loans is a good excuse to procrastinate. Plus its hard not having to go to a "live" class because physically being around others who are working towards the same goal is the motivation you sometimes need to not slack off.

HI.. thank you.... this is what I was afraid of..... I kinda already made up my mind... but I just needed this little added information.

Thanks so much everyone

Specializes in LTC, Medicare visits.

I've known a few nurses go thru the program over the years. It's easier if you do it with somebody else, they motivate you to keep going. 2 LPN's are currently doing that, they take turns buying the study guides and material, study often and challenge each other to tests. Since they are both competitive it works out great. They should be finished in 8 months!

They are also getting reimbursed but had to sign a contract with the hospital( I don't know the details), to work as an RN for them for 2 years. Maybe a nurse friend you know will do it with you, I've thought about it myself over the years.:wink2:

Hi I Am Currently Doing Nursing Essentials 1 If Anybody Want To Study With Me Let Me Know

Do you have to be an LPN to study excelsior college pre-req for the associates RN program.
