Are there any Excelsior grads or students that live in Maryland? If so was your Excelsior degree acceptable with getting jobs at Maryland hospitals and was there any problems with taking the NCLEX in Maryland? Just want to know before enrolling at Excelsior

You may want to contact someone from Maryland's Board of Nursing to get a direct answer.

But I did find the website below. The report was established in September 2009, but I don't know if it's the most up-to-date.

Maryland does not recognize the degree unless a student was eligible for NCLEX before 12/31/07. Sorry, that door is closed, and EC will not allow you to enroll.

Actually EC will allow you to register but you have to sign a statment acknowledging you are aware you can not be licensed in Maryland. After reading the report maybe they are reconsidering this option. I have looked at EC before, just not sure if that is the route to take. Maryland borders several states and some will license you as an RN so keep this in mind as well.

The OP asked specifically about licensure and working in Maryland, but any Federal facilities in Maryland would work as well. Unfortunately the legislation to allow students to endorse in to Maryland with an RN license/experience from other states failed last year. :(
