I've decided to start the program, but have to take the Lifespan and Development, as well as the Literacy requirements. I was informed from EC, that I could 'test' out of these classes and it would be roughly $155 for each. Seems reasonable as long as I don't have to set foot in a classroom. I was curious as to how other people who have cleped the exams studied for them. Sorry if this question is redundant, I just did a superficial search on this site that revealed little. Thanks in advance

You might want to consider taking the Human Growth and Development Clep instead. I am pretty sure they(EC) take this in lieu of Lifespan and it is much cheaper.

Not so sure about that... they insisted on Lifespan when I went through EC two years ago.
As far as studying.. can't say.. the only thing I clepped out of was College level German I and II... didn't have to study a lick, either.
But I would think you'd read Lifespan and/or whatever Literacy requirements you decide on (or is required) and then go book your Clep exam, and take it. Unless you feel confident enough that you don't need to brush up on the material... but basically, it's pretty simple. :)

Hi Jnette -
You are quite right about the Lifespan as of two years ago. However, EC now *DOES* accept the CLEP Human Growth and Development in place of the Lifespan exam. IIRC, it is pass/fail though, and no grade is assigned. Very confusing, as first they did, then they didn't, and now they do. LOL
EC also accepts the DANTES Lifespan Developmental Psychology exam, and they do assign a grade for it.
Hope this helps.
