Excelsior Graduate 2017

Nursing Students Excelsior

Specializes in Ambulatory Care-Family Medicine.

I just wanted to give some words of encouragement to others in this program. It is doable!

It took my about 4 years to complete the program because life kept getting in the way. I applied for CPNE July 2016 and tested at the end of September 2017 (yes I had a 14 month wait). I tried calling for cancellation dates but was unsuccessful at getting one. I passed the CPNE on the first try with no repeats. I graduated in November and passed NCLEX in December on the first attempt.

Don't listen to all of the negative surrounding the CPNE. Yes it is intense. Yes you have to study and practice for it. However, it is completely doable. Study and control your nerves! There is a Facebook group called Let's Conquer the CPNE Beast Together. I highly recommend joining. There is so much free information, study help, success stories, etc in that group. I don't know if I would have passed without that group.

Specializes in Pedi, m/s, L&d and ICU.

Congratulations on getting done! But 14 months!!! That's a crazy waiting time, I'm so ready to be done.í ½í¸©
