Excelsior enrollment fee questions...

Hi All...

I plan on enrolling in EC within the next couple months and was looking at the costs. I noticed that there is an enrollment fee and annual fee. Are both of these assessed at the time of enrollment or do you only have to pay the enrollment fee? Also since I am on a tight budget I will likely have to do a payment plan to pay these fees. So my next question is..are you able to take exams while you are still paying off the enrollment fee or does this have to be completely paid in full before you can start exams?

I appreciate any insight into this. I am anxious to get things started but of course finances always seem to put a damper on things. Thanks!

You pay the enrollment fee at the beginning. You pay the annual fee a year later if you have not completed the program. Thereafter, you pay the annual fee for each anniversary where you are still in the program. Don't know of anyone who was going forward while still working on the enrollment fee, but I don't see why you could not progress while doing the payment plan. Doesn't make sense otherwise, to have your enrollment active but not be using it pending paying off the fee. Now, the CPNE at the end is another story. You cannot do the CPNE until it has been paid for.

Thanks for your response!

I understand what you are saying. I was reading the payment plan brochure and it was saying you can finance enrollment fee up to 12 months but it did not state anything about completing payments prior to taking exams. The CPNE payment brochure however, is very specific and states this. But what you are saying makes sense. I cant imagine being held back from taking the core exams if I am making prearranged payments for the enrollment fee.

So anyway, thanks! I will call to verify and get more information on all this.
