Hi!
I purchase the "required" textbooks, not the "recommended" ones.
I get them from amazon, half-books, etc, always one or two editions older than that listed by EC. It works just fine; haven't had any problems yet. Sometimes the order of the chapters are changed from edition to edition, so just look up the chapter name rather than the number and you'll be fine.
I also buy the EC Practice Exams when I register for the exam. I wouldn't try to do without them... To me, they're invaluable!
For A&P, specifically, I bought the Lisa Arends notes and the Study Group 101 notes. Used very little of the SG101 and pretty much nothing of Lisa's.
A lot of people here love both, or one more than the other. They aren't expensive, so maybe you could buy for one course and try it out. You can get Lisa's on e-bay and SG on their site (just google Study Group 101 - sorry, don't remember site).
Good luck!!

I am about to take my first course with Excelsior. I am wondering if those who are Excelsior students use all the books/materials that are recommended by excelsior. For example take A&P...there are 4 or 5 books recommended. What do you do or have done in the past? Have you used older editions of the recommended books? If so did that work? If you don't buy from Excelsior, where do you buy the books? Anyone use the study guides on ebay? Are they worth the money?
