:wink2:Good afternoon family I have a question how many ex nursing student from the old brick walls passed the cpne on the first try. Just wondering not being an LPN or paramedic how doable did you find it?

I am a former RN brick and mortar student and truly hated it. I have a BA in another area, didn't need anything but NURSING. I have been an LPN for 2 years and altho that sounds like an advantage during CPNE, I am really worried about performing tasks in front of the CE, tasks that I do every day almost w/out thinking, i.e, g-tubes, sub-q's hanging iv's, wound tx. I know that we in LTC develop short-cuts simply because of the high volume of pts and increasing acuity levels. So my advice to you is to study and practice the EC way and you will be okay. Keep it simple on the care plans.

Hey tbone,
Just sending you some encouragement....I had the same concern as you at first. If YOU don't make not being an LPN an issue it won't be one on your CPNE or your NCLEX. I came from a traditional brick and mortar nursing program into Excelsior's program. I was not a LPN, tech, or anything. Just prepare thoroughly the Excelsior way, keep the nerves in check, pray, and you'll do fine.
