Evolution and Nursing

I just want to see how people feel about evolution on the nursing community. This is no way bashing thread. I just want to see if any people choose not to believe in evolution and be in nursing

What does believing in evolution have to do with being a nurse?

That's what I'm wondering, too!

I think it's a oblique way of insinuating that if you "believe" in evolution then you're not "spiritual" and therefore can't be a good nurse.

That's my waaaay overthinking of this and to quote that former liberal funny man, now conservative not funny man dennis miller - "that's just my opinion, i may be wrong".

Or maybe the OP is a student and feeling like the odd one out in his/her bio class, and simply asking. ;)

I am an RN, I just wanted to see what the general feel of "evolution" is between nurses because it is so science heavy in nature! Different from other occupations that are less heavy in science

I was thinking just the opposite when I first read it - If you are a nurse, you simply MUST believe in evolution or you are a simpleton. ;)

Maybe they are in "The Bible Belt" where many folks believe God created everything and feel like the odd person out in bio class. :nailbiting: Honestly, my impression was that this was a person who believes in evolution.

Evolution only; but if the FSM is willing to throw in a side of meatballs I'll consider throwing my vote.

I believe in creation....

I for one, did not evolve from a monkeys uncle...

Just sayin.

I, too, believe in Creation. I believe in the Bible completely. If we evolved, then the Bible is a lie and I should just toss it.

Whether one believes in evolution or Creation, Nursing care should be provided with respect to all people.

I believe in both... I believe that everything was created by God. However, over time God has allowed living and non-living things to evolve or change and other things to go extinct - all according to His purpose and design. There are many vestigial structures in the human body we no longer need. I do not think a devine creator would have given us useless parts unless we needed them at some point. Also whether you believe they are living or not, viruses evolve, change, and become more resistant all the time.
