Evidence base/research supporting care plan activity

Hi everyone

I'm having a problem with a case study and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Here is what am I am required to do:

Supply a copy of one nursing care plan formulated for the client.

Identify one nursing care activity from the care plan and briefly describe the evidence base/research supporting that activity. (provide reference)

This is the activity that I have chosen:

"Administer analgesics before morning activities that will exacerbate episodes of pain" (taken from the client's care plan - I think it is badly worded)

The evidence base I am using is :

Turning or ambulation activities will be enhanced if pain controlled or tolerable. (the care plan rationale)

I am using the rationale for the activity as my evidence base and my problem is that I have no clue as to where to look for actual evidence or research that supports it. I did try googling "evidence-based chronic pain management practices" and ended up with a lot of journal references that I can't access.

Are there any books or web articles that discuss this?

Thanks in advance

Chris
