Additionally, there are questions about the format of lectures, exams, and concurrent SJSU classes.

Hello!

I am creating this space for those that are applying to EVC's nursing program  in 2025

Yes. In the email that I was being selected as an alternate it explained that in a few days we will each be given a # which will be randomized. Not based on points, which surprised me as well. I'll attach a copy for anyone curious.

I see ! wow thanks for sharing this!

hopefully some spots open up real soon.

I still don't get it 😢 why there are people with 76 got accepted and there still people with 78 or even 80 82 points still got decline or in the alternate list. Can someone explain, please? Thank you!!

I'm just as confused. Initially, I received a "conditionally accepted" email that will place me in either Fall 2025 or Spring 2026, but it was followed by a second email stating that I'm actually placed on the alternate list. I dunno LOL

Can anyone who has already attended the RN program talk about their experience? I am trying to decided on a school. What is the schedule like and where are clinicals? Thanks!

Hey is anyone applying to the EVC-SJSU CEP Program?

I'm thinking of doing it it's more money but might save time to do ADN AND BSN at the same time. I wouldn't be working so I'll have time for the workload

the county hospitals in San Jose is a sure thing. But will we go to clinical sites down in morgan hill or some other cities up East like Berkeley / Alameda is a question....

Did you ever get an answer about this from the school by chance? I'm curious about the schedule and clinicals as well, just sent an email asking them but I'm sure they're overwhelmed with questions RN.

I graduated last December. For clinicals, they have different schedules depending on who your clinical instructor is/are. For the most part, you start at 6-6:30am (but for mental health [4th sem], we had a PM clinical shift) and the hospitals are VMC (all county hospitals), Kaiser SJ, Good Sam, and VA. But also depends on which semester.

For each semester, you usually get 1 day of theory then 2 days of clinicals back to back. I'm not sure how it is now. For your first semester though, you get a lab day to learn and practice nursing skills.

Essie! This is so helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time. Do you start clinicals during the first or second semester?

You start during the first semester! I think maybe on the 3rd or 4th week of school, you actually go to the hospital.

The first few weeks are labs and learning nursing skills.

I will say the farthest hospital are St. Louis in Gilroy but only for first semester (not sure if it changed now). And VA Palo Alto but only for 4th semester.

Lectures are in person and exams are in person.

My exams during my first semester were online, but this was in 2023. And we started doing in person exams during my second semester.
