As a nurse or nursing do you ever get a chance to apply evdence-based knowledge from a research article or nursing journal to your clinical practice. Please share your story.

Hi Mani,

Yes, just today, I went before a materials management meeting to advocate for the use of nitrile gloves versus latex and vinyl gloves because the research shows that:

1.) Vinyl is inferior to nitrile and latex products.

2.) Risk of patient &/or employee harm d/t type I hypersentivities to latex outweigh its cheaper cost to nitrile.

P.S. I got shot down but will continue employee/patient advocacy using evidenced based practice in hopes of providing a safer environment. :)
