ER RN new hire SALARY

Published

Help. I'm from out of town and recently moved to WA this summer. I've just been offered a position for a hospital ER. I've been a nurse for 3 years. My base is $29/hr.

Doesn't that seem low for Tacoma/Puyallup area? With the evening shift differential, it comes close to $31.

If I've already signed the offer, is it too late to change?

In addition, can someone shine a light on pros & cons of Pro-rata benefits versus Pay in Lieu of Benefits?

Any advice/help would be most appreciated.

THANK YOU.

Specializes in Trauma/ER, Pysch, Pedi, Free Standing ER, L&D, ICU.

I'm curious as well

That isn't low at all for a new hire in the ER....

Specializes in Cardiac/ER.

Crunch all the numbers i.e. compare cost of living indexing and nursing wages in other states. Base pay: $29/hr is not too shabby with 3yrs exp. I'll gladly take that in order to relocate to that area next summer.
