Epidemiology?

I will be starting a bsn program and will actually be taking epidemiology before I technically start nursing classes. Will I be totally lost?

I don't think you will be 'lost'. If it's similar to my experience, you will be learning about the processes involved in identifying and analyzing epidemics. This focuses on "research-y" stuff, like analyzing an occurrence rate to determine whether it is significantly higher than normal... identifying patterns and trends. I found it very interesting. Of course, they will probably include some information (and gross pictures) about each of diseases that are discussed, but you won't need any clinical background to understand it. If class is only intended for folks with clinical background, they would make that a pre-requisite.

Enjoy! And be assured that you will never feel the same way about getting into a closed space (elevator, airplane, etc) with anyone who looks sick - LOL.

Lol thx houtx!

Is there a lot of mathematical equations then? Mine has stats as a pre-req. I haven't taken stats in forever so just wondering if I should brush up.
