I'm starting directly in critical care, and CVICU is an option for me as a new grad (I haven't been assigned to a specific unit yet, it's a critical care internship program). I have a friend who started immediately in ED, and another who was offered jobs in both peds and L&D. Most of my classmates who wanted a specialty found it, but some of us have had to jump through some hoops - for example, I had to wait for the critical care program to start, so it's been almost 2 months since I graduated. Other people have longer commutes than they'd like, or got critical care but not in their first choice hospital.

Were would a entry level RN job be (ED, ICU, etc...)?
For instance, I doubt a new RN would land themself in the CVICU.
Thoughts?
