Okay, thanks for the info. I'm still a sophomore in college hoping to transfer to the nursing program for my junior year, so who knows how the market will change in the next 4 or more years before I could possibly get certification as PMHNP. I live in the Midwest and based on checking Indeed for new PMHNP jobs in my state from time to time, it seems that a new job is posted every few days. Not sure how this compares to other regions, but it seems reasonable to get a job considering the lowish number of PMHNPs out there. Loan repayment/relocating also sounds like a really good idea. It would also just be really interesting/difficult to be a PMHNP in a place like a Native American reservation or a small Alaskan village whose residents are mostly in tribes. I've seen some postings for those sorts of jobs as well and I imagine some have loan repayment.. reminds me of Doctors without Borders, though I'm not sure how much of a cultural different it would actually be. Sorry to be so off topic.

Good luck! And yes, I haven noticed that a lot of the HRSA loan repayment community mental health clinics are situated among communities with high Native American populations, so no worries there. It's hard to predict markets, but at least you can feel good about psych being a rather unpopular choice for healthcare types, so that should help us have jobs (I have a theory that people who are interested in psych tend to go into psychology, social work, masters in counseling etc. instead of healthcare, thus leaving us psych people who do go into health with a nice niche).
